    HOUSEHOLD OBEDIENCE

AADTC offers various classes designed to teach basic obedience and basic control in a variety of situations with distractions.. The classes focus on basic attention, household manners, and commands, such as come, down, sit, stay and walk on a loose leash. Most classes use food (treats) in training.

Successful completion of these classes can help prepare the handler and dog team for AKC’s Canine Good Citizen test (CGC). The CGC is offered once a term at AADTC. The CGC includes evaluating the dog’s ability to accept strangers, walk through crowds, obey the handler’s commands, and walk on a loose leash.

    Who can train?
We welcome any handler/dog team who wants to work on basic obedience and maybe eventually move on to competitive showing in obedience, rally, or agility.
